Impersonal and generic greetings
Our communications with you will always address you by your first and last names or if you’re a business, your business name. We never say things like “Dear user” or “Hello member.”
Sense of urgency
An communication that is fake, fraudulent or phishing are often alarmist in nature (a sense of urgency). For instance, the perpetrator could be asking for help, such as asking for a financial donation, favour or for confidential information.
Unknown attachments
Always be cautious when opening attachments, especially when the attachment is financial related and not a genuine email from knus. Some emails containing attachments may have viruses that can install themselves upon being opened.
Links that take you to a fake website
Always check out the links in a email or any other communication before clicking on it. You can normally check the link out by moving your mouse over the link. This should show the true destination of the link. If in doubt, do not click on it.
